Why Purpose > Profit in My Creative Journey
This week, I listened to a venture capitalist–turned–evergreen business strategist speak on the seven P’s of building enduring companies. The first principle he named was Purpose—not as a buzzword, but as a life force. He explained that evergreen companies don’t exist to chase trends or pad bottom lines. They exist to solve problems that elevate the shared human experience. Purpose, he said, is what has carried these businesses through world wars, market crashes, and global pandemics.
They aren’t moved by culture shifts. They are compelled by conviction.
And I thought of this space—The DreamGirl’s Journal. I thought of The Lion’s Pen. The only reason I’m still here, still maintaining this “venture” (for lack of a better term), is because I believe—deeply—that God has a purpose for it.
When this calling landed in my spirit, it wasn’t to embarrass me or humble me by making my private life public. (Though for a moment, I thought maybe God was trying to play me— 🙄let’s be real.) But I see now: it wasn’t to spotlight my shortcomings. It was to center God’s grace. To witness, in real-time, how Their strength is made perfect in my weakness.
This journal, this voice, this project—it’s not about me being resilient. It’s about me being held. Held by an almighty God who is faithful, even when I feel like a mess.
And honestly? If this were just mine, just another blog for clicks or cash, it would’ve ended up in the digital trash like the others. But this is different. This is divine. This is funded by grace. And while it hasn’t brought financial return (yet), it has brought eternal value. Because purpose doesn’t just pay—it multiplies impact.
When I share the raw, unfiltered, unflattering parts of my life, it’s not to self-destruct. It’s to invite the Holy Spirit to speak. To make space for someone else to feel seen, softened, maybe even saved.
My life is evergreen. Not for sale. Not on trend. Not built for flash.
It is quiet, rooted, and designed to last—just like The Lion’s Pen, which I believe will outlive me if that’s God’s will.
I don’t operate from scarcity. I move in alignment.
I don’t hustle for validation. I write from revelation.
I dream—boldly, unapologetically—because my Creator is my inspiration.
And They want me to give Them something to surpass.
So I will.
Until next time—stay grounded and keep blooming, because our growth is sacred—and who says we can’t express it using the luxury language of love?
Yours in haute healing,
DreamGirl ✨🌿
