The concept that our lives are the sum of the choices we’ve made supports the accountability that accompanies authority. Ultimately, it is our decisions—our mindsets and heart postures—that are responsible for our view of reality.
For instance, my algorithm has been gracious enough to bombard me with messages confirming alignment, highlighting the tangible results of consistency, and reminding me of the cost I’ve paid en route to becoming my best self. I believe I manifested that through my consistent actions to promote healing, joy, and peace in my life instead of wallowing in mistakes and what-ifs that typically lead to depressive spirals.
“Eventually, our brains and hearts begin to live in the healed spaces we affirm and visualize—until our reality has no choice but to catch up.”
The Healing Work: Choosing to Implement
When you see social media posts, read wellness articles, or hear insights from your therapist—you always have a choice: ignore or implement.
For a while, I researched and toyed with breathwork and meditation. But when I finally grasped how to use them together—especially in the journey of re-parenting my inner child—it truly transformed my life.
Sitting With Myself
Now, when I watch TikToks from creators putting a comedic spin on internal voices, they hit differently—because I’m actively doing the work of sitting with myself.
When I take time to examine and label the internal voices that trigger changes in my nervous system, I initiate the process of altering the neural pathways linked to anxiety and depression. I begin to shift my thoughts and natural responses toward embracing the woman I’m becoming, instead of remaining the woman who no longer serves me.
“In order to change—or even to renew—you must learn what you have to unlearn.”
Changing the Default
Our defaults were often formed in reactionary stages of life—childhood, heartbreak, trauma. We built solutions out of survival, not intention. And we rarely paused to assess their cost.
But there comes a time when we’re called to take actionable steps and hold space for accountability. We either stay the same and get the same—or we consistently try something new.
This realization continues to inspire me and fuels my determination to choose change, over and over again.
When Reality Catches Up
Eventually, our consistent healing work rewires the heart and mind—and our reality adjusts. That’s where I am. My vision has shifted, and that perception shift is changing everything.
“Now that I prioritize caring for my heart and training my mind to be ritualistic about the mundane… I look forward to my entire reality catching up.”
As I show the Creator my commitment to understanding the layers of me—one practice, one affirmation, one breath at a time—I trust that my life will reflect this healing.
A Moment to Celebrate
I feel like I want a mimosa.
Each step forward, we celebrate.
Cheers to the bloom. 🌸
