Lately, I’ve been witnessing the physical evidence of my inner work—clearer thinking, more intentional decisions, and a groundedness in the power of those choices. And naturally, I want that clarity to touch every part of my life… especially my day job.
I love what I do. I learned a while ago that human behavior is the key to understanding how to maximize the employee-employer relationship. And who owns that experience? Usually some branch of HR—so yes, I’m technically part of the corporate police squad. But I’m a new generation, so hold your ridicule 🙂
In the past, I didn’t fully understand the weight of this role—or how deeply important it is to align with a workplace whose habits, values, and culture reflect my own.
If I’m doing the work to heal—exploring my shadows, reparenting my inner child, owning how I show up in all my relationships—then why would I abandon that alignment just to collect a paycheck?
Your Nervous System Knows🫦
If what’s meant for me flows with ease, then even my healing nervous system should be trusted to recognize when an atmosphere isn’t for me.
There’s no wisdom in learning to protect my energy only to give it away in environments that drain me faster than I can refuel.
Work, if we’re not careful, can become an energy-sapping, boundary-erasing force that slows our emergence instead of supporting it.
I’m an advocate for people showing up to work as their whole selves—beliefs, identities, quirks, complaints, brilliance, and growth edges alike.
But let’s not pretend that comes without a cost.
And while I support investing in our presence—be it through espresso shots or fashion house fits—I’m also talking about the energetic cost.
If you’re coming home every day physically and emotionally bankrupt, then it’s time to assess the space you’re giving your energy to.
Aligned. Abundant. Non-Negotiable.🧘🏾♀️💗
For my next job, I’ll be weighing the atmosphere just as heavily as the salary.
There’s a sacred process to reclaiming your value when you’ve spent years underestimating it just to survive.
Naming your worth isn’t entitlement. It’s recovery.
I won’t keep shrinking my needs to make my brilliance more affordable. And I don’t think you should either.
If a company wants your light, they need to honor what it takes to keep it burning.
After all, we are the ones who show up—again and again—wearing our brilliance like it’s a birthright.
Share the cost. That’s what community is for. That’s part of living the dream.
